Kate Wilkinson joins OSBA with many years of experience in private practice and industry. She previously worked as the in-house general counsel and human resources director for Oregon’s largest independent grocery store company, working with store and company personnel throughout Oregon and northern California. She also practiced as an attorney with two prominent Eugene law firms, focusing on civil litigation. Kate was an adjunct professor for several years at the University of Oregon School of Law. She is an active volunteer and has served on numerous boards, including the Oregon Women Lawyers Board (one term as statewide president), the Eugene Civilian Review Board, and the Oregon Workforce Investment Board. She has been active in her local schools, reading to kids as part of the SMART program and serving as a volunteer mock trial coach. She currently serves on the Oregon Women Lawyers Foundation Board and the executive committee of the Oregon State Bar’s Litigation Section.
Kate has published numerous articles in various journals and has been a speaker at national conferences on employment-related topics.
She received her law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduated cum laude and was elected to Order of the Coif. She received her undergraduate degree in history and political science from Colorado College. Kate is a proud graduate of the public school system, having attended public schools in Louisville, Ky., and Denver, Colo. Many of her family members are educators, including her mother, who spent decades working in some of Denver’s toughest elementary schools. “My mom always stressed the value of education and a love of reading – something that I have taken to heart,” Kate says. She looks forward to using her skills and experience on behalf of our members.
