Registration opens for Certified Playground Safety Inspector class

Registration is now open for the Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) class and certification exam. Hosted by the Oregon Recreation and Park Association, Oregon’s only CPSI class of 2015 will be held June 3-5 in Hillsboro, Oregon. Register by April 17 for best registration rates at www.orpa.org.

The CPSI course provides participants with the training needed to recognize and prevent potential playground hazards. Nationally-recognized playground safety instructors provide practical, hands-on instruction on how to apply the ASTM standards and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) guidelines to playground environments. Course participants will learn how to identify hazards on public playgrounds and playground equipment; rank hazards according to injury potential; and how to apply that knowledge and establish a playground safety program. Class registrants will receive newly-revised 2014 CPSI class materials and reference as part of their registration.

Participants can register for the CPSI educational course and/or the certification exam. Early-bird registration rates for the class and exam start at $545 for ORPA members and $595 for non-members.
