Friday, June 24, 2016
Potential lead exposure in school water supplies has emerged as an issue in Oregon and across the country in recent months. To help guide members in responding, PACE has developed guidance and resources in an easy-to-understand format of Frequently Asked Questions.
The FAQs include:
Should schools test?
What if we find something?
Resources include a comprehensive guide from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and a sample parent letter from Salem-Keizer Public Schools. The new document also offers resources for staff, parents and community members, and addresses coverage issues. It also discusses the legal requirements for testing. The FAQs can be found here.
