A panel of PACE employees or their designees will determine winners based on certain criteria, including:
Originality and emotional appeal – the work effectively prompts thoughts and actions that will lead to preventing boundary invasion and sexual harassment of students, and/or lead to reporting of those who attempt to sexually assault or harass students
Overall production value (video/audio quality)
One minute (60 seconds) or less in length (a length of about 30-45 seconds is suggested)
Judging decisions as determined by PACE are final.
Dec. 18, 2018: Contest opens
Jan. 31, 2019 at 11:59 p.m.: Deadline to submit online form
By April 30, 2019: Final judging will be completed and the prospective winner(s) announced
The contest is open to PACE member public high school district students in Oregon (Portland Public, Salem-Keizer & Beaverton school districts are not eligible). To receive one of up to six $5,000 scholarships, winner(s) must demonstrate enrollment in an institution of higher learning (post-12th grade) by Oct. 1, 2022. Entries limited to one video per student. In the event a winning entry has been created by more than one student, the $5,000 scholarship will be split equally among those students whose names have been identified in the entry email.
Prospective winners may be asked to authenticate their work or make editing changes to it if PACE requests.
Students are welcome to seek advice from adults, but the creative work must be completed by students, including videotaping, scripting and editing.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
PACE is the state’s leading property-casualty insurance provider for schools. PACE is promoting the #stoppredators video contest, and promotion is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by or associated with Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or any other organization.
Winning the grand prize requires: responding to queries from PACE within 72 hours and providing an MP4 of original video, a head shot photograph of the student and background information for promotional purposes. The scholarship money will be sent directly to student’s college of choice. Recipient will be responsible for any applicable taxes.
All entries become the sole property of PACE to use at its discretion for all time.
Submission of an entry will be taken as acceptance of these terms.
