PACE staff offer guidance on drone use and record keeping requirements
Drone use on school campuses has raised a number of questions about potential legal issues and insurance liability. Staff from the Property and Casualty Coverage for Education (PACE) risk pool have developed a guidance document with frequently asked questions and other resources for members.
Among the issues addressed are federal aviation rules, drone use at sporting events, operation by staff and volunteers, and more.
We will continue offering operational and fleet management software to assist the members in tracking, documentation, and management of your drone operations. We will be moving to Drone Log Book to perform this function for our members. We will be providing five licenses to each member that has drone operations. We have already been working with members that have attended one of our previous trainings to get them access to the application.
Those members that take one of these trainings will have the ability to have one of the PACE Risk Consultants come to their site to work with them on the development of their drone program as well as to conduct a training flight with the new pilot. Your PACE Risk Management Team has three Drone Pilots and they are available to come out and conduct infrastructure reviews of your insured properties/facilities with our drones, upon your request.
