PACE Presents:
SPORTS LAW - Legal issues impacting school athletic programs

Friday, March 19, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Salem

This workshop examines a wide variety of sports law issues of concern to school administrators, athletic directors, coaches, athletic trainers and other school personnel, including: 

  • Liability coverage for sports injuries 
  • Risk management principles for school sports
  • Title IX and gender equity requirements
  • Constitutional and civil rights of student-athletes
  • Effective anti-hazing policies for athletic programs
  • Disabilities laws related to school sports
  • Anti-sexual harassment policies for athletic programs
  • Employment laws related to school sports programs

FEATURED PRESENTER: Lee E. Green, J.D., is an attorney and has taught sports law, constitutional law and business law for the last 24 years at Baker University in Kansas. He has written extensively on sports law and worked with professional sports leagues and teams. He is a regular presenter on sports law for the National Collegiate Athletic Association, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and state high school athletics associations across the country.

LOCATION: Willamette Education Service District, 2611 Pringle Rd. SE, Salem

COST: FREE to all PACE member participants. Non-PACE OSBA members $125; $225 for all others. Meals are included.
