Schedule a Title IX audit this summer

PACE (Property and Casualty Coverage for Education) offers free Title IX audits to make sure your district's athletic and other education programs comply with sex discrimination laws.

Summer is a perfect time for this. After the district compiles information regarding its athletic programs, an attorney will do a site visit. You will then receive a written report and recommendations to ensure Title IX compliance. This report is confidential and is exempt from disclosure because it is protected by the attorney/client privilege.

Title IX prohibits sex discrimination in any educational program or activity at any educational institution that receives federal funds. Common programs covered include athletics, drama, band and other extracurricular student activities. Title IX also prohibits sex discrimination, including sexual harassment, discrimination in admissions and counseling, and discrimination against married or pregnant students.

If your district faces a legal problem, PACE pre-loss legal services provides up to $1,000 worth of legal consultation per incident at no cost. Legal advice before a lawsuit becomes a reality can help you avoid costly and difficult legal proceedings.

PACE also offers regional and on-site training on sexual harassment and hostile work environments at little or no charge.

Make full use of your PACE benefits - call 503-588-2800 or 800-578-6722 and ask for PACE pre-loss services to schedule a Title IX audit or other legal services.
