This is an unprecedented and exceptionally unnerving time, with wildfires ravaging our state. I know some of you have been displaced from your homes, or you have family, friends, students and colleagues that have had to evacuate. Some districts have delayed the first day of school or canceled meals and activities due to ongoing fire danger, power outages and unhealthy air quality. Many students and teachers are without power and internet access. Each day seems to bring new challenges.
PACE is here for you.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me or reach out directly to our PACE teams:
When it is safe, conduct inspections of the buildings inside and outside after the fire.
Make sure you are checking local emergency management websites.
Implement emergency evacuation procedures and routes, including reunification if appropriate.
Implement your communications plan for contacting and updating your employees and community. This should include a phone/email/text tree which people in your organization use to quickly.
Our hearts and minds are with all of you who have been affected by the fires, as well as those on the front lines who are helping with rescue and emergency relief efforts. Stay safe, help each other, and know that we are here for you.
