We have decided to make PACE Day an in-person and virtual event this year, so that you can come network and connect in Salem, Oregon or attend virtually from anywhere in the state! And we know this has been another difficult year for members, so PACE Day is free for everyone!

PACE Day Key Note Speaker
Erin Merryn
Childhood sexual abuse survivor turned author, speaker, child advocate and activist. Erin Merryn is the founder and president of Erin's Law.
Erin's Law requires that all public schools in each state implement a prevention-oriented child sexual abuse program that teaches:
- Students in grades preK through 12th grade age-appropriate techniques to recognize child sexual abuse and how to tell a trusted adult.
- School personnel all about child sexual abuse.
- Parents and guardians the warning signs of child sexual abuse plus needed assistance, referral or resource information to support sexually abused children and their families.
For PACE Day, Erin will share her journey of experiencing abuse, the warning signs missed both at home and in school, overcoming abuse, and her mission with Erin's Law across America. The importance of personal body safety education to students who might otherwise never get it outside of school. Merryn will be touching on the process of getting Erin's Law passed in Oregon and its success.
She will be both our keynote speaker and will also be doing a break out session with our Sexual Abuse and Molestation Prevention Specialist McKenzie Nix.
Bio: Erin is now on a mission to persuade all 50 states to pass Erin's Law, which mandates that all public schools use age-appropriate curricula to teach students how to tell on anyone who touches or attempts to touch their private parts.
In 2013 Governor Quinn signed Erin's Law mandating child sexual abuse education in all Illinois public schools. In just a few short years, she has already persuaded half the country to pass similar versions of the law. In 2009, Texas passed a similar law but it was only a task force which did not mandate students be taught personal body safety, making Illinois the first state to require personal body safety education by law. She has now dedicated her life to protecting our nation's children. She was honored for her efforts in 2012 as one of Glamour Magazine's 2021 Women of the Year. In 2014 People Magazine named her one of fifteen women changing the world along with Oprah and Hillary Clinton.

Gaining a firm understanding of the law and implementing best practices for prevention, intervention and de-escalation can limit the use of these reactive practices. Session participants will learn the equity and risk issues associated with using restraint and seclusion, high-leverage prevention practices to positively support students and staff, and requirements and best practices. |

$139-$149 single/double occupancy/night ($20 for each additional person) + 10% tax
For the first attendee per member entity: Make your hotel reservations directly with the hotel and we'll take care of picking up Wednesday night April 13, 2022 only with the hotel. You will be responsible to pay for additional guests and incidental and if you cancel less than 72 hours prior to your stay or do not show up.
The group rate is guaranteed through April 4, 2022. All reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis.
